Three employees of a Hoover vape store are facing criminal charges amid allegations they were selling vape cartridges and THC products to minors.

Hoover police on Friday announced the charges against Mohaned Salah Alharby, 31, Rusty Leonoel Dempsey, 24, both of Hoover, and John Paul Rubiee Hinton, of Pelham.

Capt. Keith Czeskleba Hoover police received numerous complaints from citizens about Sky Vape & CBD at 3133 Lorna Road, about the business selling tobacco products to teenagers.

One parent, Czeskleba said, told police their teenager had to be hospitalized after ingesting gummies that the minor bought from the store.

Alharby is charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and two counts of selling tobacco to a minor. His bond is set at $6,000.

Dempsey is charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and selling tobacco to a minor. His bond is set at $5,500.

Hinton is charged with two counts of unlawful distribution of a control substance. His bond is set at $10,000.
